Global Citizenship: List

While we are living in a world, impacted by the process of globalization, our entire lives have become more interconnected and interdependent in a variety of ways with those around the world. By living in this very world, where our actions in the United States, can go as far to directly affect people in places like Africa, we have automatically become part of globalization itself. After becoming aware of the impact we can have on others, it becomes our personal responsibility to serve as a global citizen in our community.

The E-Waste crisis is a prime example of how we can become more involved and responsible global citizens today. Through the interconnectedness that globalization has created, we have learned that creating E-waste by upgrading our electronics every two years, and improper disposal of devices can end up in the hands of African citizens, who do not have sufficient infrastructure or safety to dispose of our waste. It's easy to forget about our electronics amidst the growing trends and exciting, new features. But, by becoming global citizens, we will not only educate ourselves, but we will also be able to do our part in solving the E-Waste crisis.
